Eternal Tides is a collection of musical contemplations inspired by the Ocean, weaving traditional and contemporary expressions into a cross-cultural tapestry of sound-stories. The compositions and improvisations on this album explore the spirit of the ocean in her many hues; her calm tidal pools, her dynamic waves and turbulent storms, her vast flowing currents, her endless depths and horizons of infinite vastness. Each song on this album represents a unique encounter with the ocean, like a wave, arising and thereafter dissipating back into the depths from which it came.
This initiative brings together friends from around the globe, and aims to bring awareness to the Oceans at a dire time of need when multi-national and global corporations are neglecting the health of the single most important source of life we depend on. We stand together in the belief that music has the power to bring awareness which can aid in the healing and harmonization of the self, society and planet. As music can teach us to become resonant, think relationally and feel harmonically, a musical ecology of collective becoming may be what is necessary for social and ecological sustainability.
